Sagar Watch/ The statue of Dr. Hari Singh Gour, the founder of Sagar University, located on the heart of the city,Teenbatti-has special importance to the people of the city. Whenever any citizen gets any achievement, he goes to garland the statue of Dr. Gour in the city as a honor.

According to Indian culture, people usually go to garland only after taking off the shoes. People follow this tradition while garlanding the statue of Dr. Gour located on Teenbatti.

But during the minister's program today, when the garlands were offered to the statue of Dr. Gour, one of the major personality  was seen wearing shoes among the crowd who went up on the column. This picture of him can prove to be heartbreaking to the people of the city and those who respect Dr. Gour.

Significantly, a month ago, there was a lot of ruckus against the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Sagar University in the matter of not taking-off shoes before garlanding the statue of Dr. Gour. In view of the displeasure of the people of the city and the anger of the youth, both the personalities had to be publicly apologized.
