National Workshop -Views Exchanged over  Music Therapy for Stress Management

A seven-day national workshop "Music Therapy for Stress Management" was inaugurated at Dr Harisingh Gour University, Department of Music, which is being organized from 20 February to 26 February 2023.

The convenor of the workshop, Dr Awadhesh Pratap Singh Tomar, threw light on the justification of the workshop and the introduction of all India subject experts who would join online and offline in seven days and the sub-topics to be promoted by them.

On the timeless nature of classical music in today's ever-changing world, Prof. Naveen Kongo sheds light. Dr Arun Kumar Saab presented a brief lecture on music therapy.

In the same session, Akhilesh Ahirwar, who came from Raja Mansingh Tomar Arts and Music University, presented Raag Natbhairav, under which he presented delayed khayal, drut khayal tarana etc., accompanied by Ashutosh Srivastava on tabla and Yashgopal Srivastava on harmonium.

In the second session of the workshop, subject expert Prof. Neena Srivastava, by connecting through an online medium, apprised the participants of the workshop about the nuances of singing.

The pioneer of Indian music therapy was Dr. T.V. Sairam as the second subject expert of this session. In this connection, Partho Ghosh, who came from Raja Mansingh Tomar Arts and Music University, presented his concise lecture on sound printing.
