SAGAR WATCH/ The Municipal Commissioner has given instructions to ban the circulation of single-use polythene and plastic material made from it. In this connection, the Assistant Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, along with all the zone in-charges and ward sweepers, have been asked to speed up the challan action against those who sell and use single-use plastic material.

It is noteworthy that the Government of India has imposed a complete ban on single-use plastic and materials made from it. Despite that, the shopkeepers who are found using it, the non-standard polythene has to be confiscated by taking fraudulent action against them.

In this connection, the Municipal Commissioner has urged the citizens to use bags made of cloth instead of single-use polythene.

Prohibited items - Earbuds with plastic stickers, plastic baton used for balloons, polystyrene thermocol decorative material, plastic plates, glasses, plastic forks, spoons, plastic knives, extra tray cutlery, around sweet box Wrapping or packaging films, invitation cards and cigarette packets, plastic or PVC banners of thickness less than 100 microns, plastics, steerers, etc.
