Sagar Watch/ In making academic records of students digitally available, Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University has come second in the country. On this achievement, in a national program organized at Hotel Chanakya, New Delhi, Union Education Minister Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Neelima Gupta honored.
It is noteworthy that 'One Student-One ID'-Apar ID has been launched by the Education Ministry, under which the academic records of 25 crore students are available on the digital platform.
On the occasion of this achievement, a national program was organized by the Union Ministry of Education. In the program, the Vice Chancellors of the top four institutions leading in the implementation of Academic Bank of Credit were honored by Union Education Minister Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan.
Media Officer of Dr. Hari Singh Gour Central University, Vivek Jaiswal said that in this program, Union Education Minister Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan told that in the coming time, every Indian will have Apar-ID which will provide him personal identity. Only through ABC and DigiLocker will it help in fulfilling the important objective of the new education policy 2020, the concept of multiple entry-multiple exit.
He said that in future the information available on ABC and DigiLocker will be linked to academic credit and job profile and will be used in the employment related field. The whole world has developed 53 digital power infrastructures jointly by 16 countries, out of which 19 have been developed by India alone.
While launching Apar-ID, he also highlighted digital platforms like Deeksha, Swayam, Samarth and said that through the new education policy, equal coordination is being established among all three – skill, knowledge and sports.
In the program, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Neelima Gupta, while giving a statement on the strategies of implementation of Academic Bank of Credit in the University and its successful implementation, said that this work has been done under a mission. ABC is an important phase of the National Education Policy 2020. The university established a NAD cell for this.
According to Vice Chancellor Gupta, several orientation programs were organized to create awareness among the students about Academic Bank of Credit and its benefits.
Two films made by EMRC of the University for creating awareness about Academic Bank of Credit have been appreciated at the national level. These films were sent to academic institutions across the country for student awareness.
An interactive link has been provided on the University website which is directly related to DigiLocker. Through this, registration of students is going on continuously.
In this, the degrees of all the students from the year 2009 to 2023 have been made available online. From 2023-24, we have also been connected to the integrated Samarth portal. This work is continuing continuously. So far around 1.5 lakh degrees have been made available online.
She said that Sagar University is the leading university in the country among the institutions offering degrees through DigiLocker. He praised the administrative officers, teachers and technical staff of the university for this. He also expressed his gratitude to all the team and members of UGC, DigiLocker and NAD.
Many distinguished guests including UGC Chairman Prof M Jagdish Kumar, NETF Chairman Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, NCVET Chairman Dr Nirmaljit Singh, Higher Education Secretary Sanjay K Murthy, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, School Education Secretary were present in the program.
In-charge Controller of Examinations Dr. SP Gadewar and Nodal Officer of NAD University Dr. Arvind Mishra were also present as university representatives.
