Sagar Watch/ University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Jagdish Kumar announced the development of a portal for the purpose of establishing a Central Zone Central Research Infrastructure Centre. He said that for the researchers of four states - Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand - all the universities will provide details of their basic facilities and complete information about contact persons and contact details on a single portal. Universities of all four states will be able to benefit through this medium.
He expressed these views during his address in the one-day workshop organized by University Grants Commission and Vikram University Ujjain on the implementation of NEP 2020.
The workshop was inaugurated by Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel. In which about 400 Vice Chancellors and NEP coordinators from Central Zone (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand) participated.
In this workshop organized in a total of ten sessions, topics like multidisciplinary and holistic education, digital empowerment and online education, skill development and employment, research, innovation including Indian knowledge system and Indian languages, internationalization of education were brainstormed and keeping these in view, NEP 2020 was prepared. Emphasis was laid on implementation.
In the fourth session of the workshop, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Prof. Neelima Gupta made a proposal underlining the lack of basic facilities and equipment for research in all the universities. In which each university was suggested to share the facilities available with each other, after accepting which the UGC Chairman announced the launch of the new portal.
