Sagar Watch/ World Cancer Day was celebrated in the district hospital under the chairmanship of Mayor Sangeeta Tiwari. On this occasion, the Mayor said that women should be aware of their health and if they have any doubts, they should get checked immediately.
Dr. Mamta Timori, Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Sagar said that February 4 is celebrated as World Cancer Day to increase awareness about cancer and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.
On this occasion, She asked the common people to stop chewing and consuming tobacco. If symptoms appear, go to the nearest health center and get yourself checked so that the society and the country remain healthy.
This year also, on the occasion of World Cancer Day on 04 February 2024, cancer screening and public awareness activities are to be organized in all health institutions,She Said.
Jolly Shabu, DPHNO said that cancer investigation is being done in the district hospital. Till now, VIA screening has been done on 4061 patients, out of which 306 cases have come positive, colposcopy has been done on 271 patients, biopsy has been done on 21 patients, Pap smear has been done on 47 patients, TA/LEEP has been done on 71 patients. The patients are also being referred outside.
All health institution in-charges have been directed to conduct cancer screening in their respective health institutions and compulsorily register the information on the NCD portal.
In the program, certificates were given to Nanki Nayak Staff Nursing Officer, Sushma Balmiki, Sharda Ahirwar.
On this occasion, Dr. Jyoti Chauhan Regional Director, Health Services Sagar Division, Dr. Sushila Yadav Joint Director, Dr. Mamta Timori Chief Medical and Health Officer Sagar, Dr. R.S.Jayant Civil Surgeon, Dr. Abhishek Thakur RMO, Dr. Lalita Patil Women's Cancer Department, Dr. Kiran Singh, Dr. Sandeep Gautam Nodal Officer Dr. Preeti Tiwari, Dr. Srivastava Dr. Dharmendra Kanojia, Oral Disease Specialist, Dr. Ajit Sharma Hospital Manager, Munika Padma Ja, Aarti, Praveen Dubey, Counsellor, Om Singhade, Urban Asha worker BMC Nursing students, Trainee male health worker Shruti Sister Tutor, R. K Jadiya, Jagdish Jarolia, Hemraj Ahirwar and other officers/employees were present.
