Sagar Watch News/ Bhopal Lokayukta Police (Bhopal Lokayukta Team) has caught Santosh Kumar Dubey, a senior officer posted in the Fisheries Department of Vidisha, red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand. He had asked for a bribe from a fish seller in exchange for releasing the grant money given to fish sellers by the government.
According to the information, on 23 February 2024, the complainant Hariram Raikwar, resident of Freeganj Mohalla Ganjbasoda, had complained before the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal Division. He told that he and his family are engaged in selling fish. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Yojana, the government gives grant money to fish sellers.
In the name of his wife Rani Bai Raikwar, an application was made to the Fisheries Department, Vidisha, regarding the purchase of a goods carriage auto and providing assistance along with the purchase receipt as per the government scheme.
Assistant Director Fisheries Department, Vidisha, Santosh Dubey was demanding Rs 50,000 as bribe out of the total amount of Rs 1,80,000 given under the government scheme. The complaint was verified by the Superintendent of Police.
After finding the facts mentioned in the complaint to be true, the Lokayukta team on Monday caught Santosh Dubey, Assistant Director, Fisheries Department, Vidisha, red handed while taking Rs 50,000 from the complainant Hariram Raikwar.
