Sagar Watch/ January 5/ Under the three-tier Panchayat Election 2022, the election of Sarpanch posts and 86 Panchs in 5 Gram Panchayats of Sagar district was completed peacefully today.
Collector and District Election Officer Deepak Arya told that polling started at 7 am and ended peacefully at 3 pm. After the polling was over, the counting of votes was done at the polling stations only.
After the election of 86 Panchs, the counting of votes was done at the polling stations only, while the counting of votes of 5 Sarpanchs will be done on January 9 in the concerned block, said Deputy District Election Officer Sushri Shashi Mishra.
He told that 22,680 voters were to vote in today's polling, out of which 15,860 voters used their votes. Thus 69.93 per cent of polling took place. He said that maximum polling in the district took place in the Deori block, where 5,797 voters exercised their votes.
