Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that children orphaned due to the death of their parents will also be included in the ambit of the pension scheme applicable to children orphaned due to the death of their parents during Covid infection. 

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan described the marriage of 2,100 poor girls in Gadhakota of Sagar district under Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana today as a Mahayagya of social harmony. 

The Chief Minister participated in the 20th Punya Vivah ceremony of the scheme at Rahas Mela Ground, Garhakota in Sagar district. 

Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Urban Development Minister and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister also blessed the newly-wed couples.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Minister Shri Bhargava is not only a politician but also a social worker. The history of social service he created by getting 21 thousand of girls married is exemplary. We all are proud of him. Shri Bhargava proved that politics is not a profession but a social service. 

The Chief Minister also described the wedding ceremony as a Mahakumbh of social service, in which more than one lakh people participated.

The state government has implemented the scheme for girls from birth to education and then later for marriage. 


Bringing smiles on the faces of daughters, sisters and women is the main goal of the Madhya Pradesh government. 

Women will not have to wander here and there to join the Ladli Bahna Yojana, applications will be taken by setting up camps in the wards of villages and cities.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan blessed all the newlyweds who tied the knot in the marriage ceremony, wishing them a happy and successful life. 

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also announced the approval of a degree college in Shahpur on the demand of Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava.

He said that not a single daughter of the state should be deprived of marriage due to financial constraints. He told the newly-wed girls that Gopal Bhargava would be their Dharampita all his life. 

Now if any poor person in Madhya Pradesh wishes to get his daughter married, he would get it done.

Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma described Kanyadan as the biggest daan in Indian culture. He said that Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava has done a virtuous deed by getting 21 thousand poor girls married. 

He expressed happiness that sons and daughters of all religions and communities got married in the 20th marriage ceremony. Such events should be held in every assembly constituency.
